About Us

Unplush was founded in 2015. Since then, the company has proposed several artistic productions, inside and outside the frame of theatres’ infrastructures, both in Switzerland and internationally. The company Unplush brings together artists from different fields such as dance, visual arts, video and music.

The work of the Unplush company is the result of the collaboration of different artists directed by Marion Zurbach. The artists gather their efforts around unconventional topics, to address a wide range of audience though humour and physicality in order to challenge interdisciplinarity and established moral values. Over the three years of its existence, Unplush has carried out two other projects in parallel with the Company. These initiatives reflect the wish of the company to address different kinds of audiences, by being present not only as performers, but also as pedagogues and curators.

With “Unplush Invites”, Unplush develops a particular approach to the concept of “hosting” by inviting very diverse audiences to participate to unique events curated by the Unplush Invites collective.

“Amaclub” is a platform that aims to give space to amateur dancers to learn and improve technical skills in contemporary dance and to express their personal emotional universe through creative work.

Greller Keller Schlachthaus Bern

The performer Marion Zurbach presents her investigation on Elie Kakou, the first Maghreb comedian who knew success in France, and who died in 1999. She revisits some stage characters of her childhood idol and expands their physicality, seeking for a conversation between Elie and herself. A video projection creates immersive spaces that entice the audience into uncanny places. Accompanied by dogs and electronic sounds, using humour in unsettling ways, she offers us a trip to Marseille in its uncommon areas.
